Setup Guide

About two minutes, start to finish. If you can open a PDF, you can use this.

On an iPad, with Goodnotes

  1. Download. Open the link in your order confirmation email and tap the file. It saves to your Files app.
  2. Unzip. Tap the .zip once. iPad unzips it into the same folder.
  3. Import. Open Goodnotes, tap the + in the top corner, choose Import, and pick your planner PDF.
  4. Turn off read-only. This is the step everybody misses. In Goodnotes, make sure you are in edit mode, not read-only — the hyperlinks will not respond in read-only.
  5. Start with Today. Tap TODAY in the navigation rail. That is the whole setup.

With Notability

Same steps. Notability's import is under the + then Import. Links work in normal editing mode.

On an Android tablet

Use Xodo or Samsung Notes. Both handle the hyperlinks. Download the file, unzip it, and open the PDF in the app of your choice.

If the links are not working

You are almost certainly in read-only mode. Every app has a toggle for it, usually a small lock or pencil icon. Switch to editing and the navigation comes alive.

If that is not it, email me at prettyplanette@gmail.com and tell me which app and which device. I will walk you through it.

A few things worth knowing

  • It is built for tablets. It will open on a phone, but the pages are sized for a tablet screen and a stylus, so it will not be comfortable.
  • You do not need an Apple Pencil. Any stylus works, and so does a finger — the pages are sized for real handwriting either way.
  • You can print selected pages, but printing loses the navigation, which is most of what makes it work.
  • Keep the original file. If you ever want a clean start, re-import it. Your annotated copy stays untouched.
